Croydon Commitment - delivering social value in Croydon
Are you a business in Croydon wanting to support the local community?
Or, if you are a school, college or community group, would you like the support of local businesses to deliver an educational project or another activity?
Through our easy ‘Ways2Work’ volunteering programme, Neighbourhood Team Challenges and Community Activities, we bring people together to do good things in Croydon.
Linking Business with the Community
We believe that every business of any size can make a positive impact in their community. Croydon Commitment has been working with businesses since 2004 enabling them to get involved with projects and activities that help Croydon residents and Croydon’s environment.
Stronger Community Relationships
Greater competitive advantage in tendering for new business, with sound evidence of meaningful community investment and social value.
Enhanced Brand Reputation
Companies actively supporting community engagement can enhance their brand and reputation. CSR events and volunteering can make great content for social media, plus evidence of social value outputs is increasingly requested when tendering.
Networking Opportunities
Connecting with other employee volunteers provides valuable networking opportunities allowing for potential partnerships and collaborations.
Ways2Work
Are you a school, college, community group or individual who would like to know more about the world of work?
Neighbourhood Team Challenges
Our neighbourhood team challenges are a great way of getting a team of employees to meet community organisations and provide some valuable ‘hands-on’ help.
Community Activities
Our Community Activities are a mixed bag of good deeds, events and actions – linking local businesses with non-profit organisations in Croydon.
Our Story
When Phillips Electricals left Croydon over 20 years ago, they wanted to leave a legacy that would benefit the residents of the borough. Together with CVA and the council, they set up Croydon Commitment, a registered charity, to bring the business community together to support the local community. Since then, we have:
- Facilitated over £1million local investment
- Fundraised £440,000 to set up a Grassroots investment fund
- Delivered over 16,000 volunteering hours
Since 2011, distributed £165,910 to Croydon organisations via Grassroots Trust - Worked with hundreds of local businesses and thousands of employee volunteers
- Supported hundreds of local voluntary groups
